Shhh it's ok Dark Lord. Sauron's Evil will probably continue to poison that area for thousands of years to come and orks will always be a problem there. Come on let's go out and raid some convenience stores and enslave the masses. Bet that'll make you feel better. <3
At least Sauron went out the way every evil overlord should go out - by detonating a poison pill in the process.
(Namely, the fact that all the other rings were then powerless, and everything they had been used to create, even the good stuff made by the elves, would fade with his passing.)
To be fair, he's right--the death of Sauron is pretty sad in the movie. His look of desperation, fear, panic, and utter defeat is actually incredibly powerful, and it makes you wonder if he was really that bad of a guy. :P
